Sobuj Bangladesh: Partnering with Hope & Change BD
In mid-2024, Dhaka faced an environmental crisis following a mass uprising that severely impacted the city. The destruction of green resources, roadside trees, and vital urban greenery heightened the urgent need for reforestation.
Enroute Foundation, in collaboration with Hope & Change BD, initiated the “Treevolution-2024” program under the Sobuj Bangladesh campaign to restore greenery in the metropolitan zone.
This tree plantation program in Dhaka was not just an environmental initiative—it carried a deeper meaning. Every tree planted during the three-day event (22nd to 24th August 2024) was dedicated to the martyrs of the movement, symbolizing hope, resilience, and renewal.
On 22nd August, the tree plantation program in Dhaka started at Zahir Raihan Road, Palashi. With over 30 dedicated student volunteers, saplings were planted along the roadside, symbolizing the first step toward creating a greener and more sustainable Dhaka.
On 23rd August, the tree plantation program in Dhaka expanded to Asad Avenue, Iqbal Road, Satmoshjid Road, and Bosila Road. With 70 volunteers and esteemed guests planting a Royal Poinciana tree, the initiative highlighted a commitment to a greener and sustainable Dhaka.
On 24th August, the tree plantation program in Dhaka concluded with 50 volunteers planting trees along Ring Road from Shyamoli to Shia Mosque. This collective effort completed the Sobuj Bangladesh mission, paving the way for a greener and more sustainable Dhaka.
