Green School: An initiative under the theme “Save Your World”
An initiative towards a plastic pollution-free tomorrow
Green School: Creating a Cleaner and Greener School Environment through Action
Plastic pollution is one of the most severe threats to human health, wildlife, and ecosystems. The mindset of environmental awareness among the younger generation is crucial for a sustainable, pollution-free environment. Otherwise, there will be a time when our roads, playgrounds, and residential areas will be cluttered with plastic waste, becoming the primary cause of long-term environmental degradation.
Recognizing this urgency, Enroute Foundation implemented the “Green School” initiative under the theme of “Save Your World” in collaboration with the Deputy Commissioner Office, Cox’s Bazar and ILO ISEC project. As part of the celebration of ‘তারুণ্যের উৎসব’, the campaign took place in three schools across the Cox’s Bazar zone.
The initiative aimed to create a cleaner, greener school environment by educating students on sustainable waste management and environmental conservation. By involving students, teachers, and local authorities, the initiative sought to transform school premises into models of sustainability.
Held on February 24 and 25, 2025, the program took place in three educational institutions: Cox’s Bazar Government High School and Cox’s Bazar Government Girls’ High School on the first day, followed by BIAM Laboratory School & College on the second day. The attendants were students, teachers, school staff, and administrators.

Planning that Led to a Successful Initiative
A series of similar activities was observed to run the campaign in three of the schools. The event commenced with an AV presentation highlighting the negative effects of plastic pollution and strategies for a clean school environment. This was followed by an oath-taking ceremony, where students stood together and pledged to avoid and discourage the use of plastic and polythene in all aspects of their lives.
On the first day, at Cox’s Bazar Government High School and Cox’s Bazar Government Girls’ High School, the initiative took place in the presence of Md. Tariqul Haque, Chairman of Enroute International Limited, the head teacher, and school representatives.
On the second day, at BIAM Laboratory School & College, Mohammad Salahuddin (Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate of Cox’s Bazar) inaugurated the ceremony, and later, Romen Sharma (Additional Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar) delivered a welcoming speech.
