The initiative is being carried out by Enroute Foundation under the initiative and supervision of RAJUK, reinforcing a shared commitment to expanding urban green spaces and promoting sustainable environmental development.
Building on the success of previous plantation drives, this year’s program continues the Foundation’s long-term vision of creating greener, healthier, and more climate-resilient communities. By increasing urban tree cover and encouraging environmental stewardship, the initiative contributes to a cleaner and more sustainable future for Bangladesh.

High-Level Visit Highlights the Importance of Urban Greening
On 13 May 2026, a high-level delegation visited the Purbachal New Town Project to review the progress and preparations for the upcoming plantation program. The visit underscored the national importance of expanding green infrastructure as part of sustainable urban development.
The delegation was led by Honorable Minister for Housing and Public Works, Mr. Zakaria Taher, MP, and Honorable State Minister for Housing and Public Works, Mr. Ahammad Sohel Monjur, MP. During the visit, both dignitaries participated in symbolic tree plantation activities and emphasized the importance of continuing long-term afforestation efforts to strengthen environmental resilience and improve the quality of urban life.

The visit was also attended by Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Chairman of RAJUK, Engineer Md. Riazul Islam, Chairman of Enroute Foundation, Mr. Md. Tariqul Haque, along with senior officials from RAJUK and Enroute Foundation.
